Evangelism and Team Van Print E-mail

Evangelism and Team Van ($28,000)

Currently we have 15-20 medical and construction teams coming to the hospital each year. When we finish the construction of the main Maternity buildings by the end of 2010 or the beginning of 2011 we will then seek to replace the construction teams with teams that will help us reach out to villages in our area to give health care, and seek to plant churches as we show God's concern for their physical and spiritual lives.

To do this we need a 15 place Toyota Van. Currently we are using personal vehicles and an old van to do all of the team trips. The old van has broken down several times now and is not very comfortable. If we use personal vehicles we often need to send two to bring back the same number that a van could bring alone. This vehicle would bring us huge dividends in saving time and expense for team travel as well as allowing us to become more involved in village outreach.

Value of one child

As we turn off her baby’s oxygen, Isa’s mother runs outside so that she can hide her tears. Isa’s dad sits stone-faced. Knowing his baby will die within an hour, he says that they are leaving regardless of what we say.  They have no more money for medical care.

Sadly this is life in Mali, having to let your child die due to lack of funds, even when the price of oxygen is just $2 per day, hospital care an additional $1. Can you even imagine having to put a monetary value on your child's life?!
